Below are some interesting links which I have acquired over some long, tedious Stumble trips. They are useful tips on writing, good reading on writing, and awesome online stories. Good stuff, here.
WRITING
Writer: This is a tool for writing online. Wonderfully coded and very useful, Writer allows you to write and store in a sort of online word processor. Just as long as you don’t clear your cookies and cache completely when you are done. It’s quite cool. You can even customize your colors in it.
Time To Write: “JURGEN WOLFF’S tips, ideas, inspirations for writers and would-be writers and other creative people,” this is a good blog. I strongly suggest you bookmark/subscribe to the feed.
National Novel Writing Month: While the month itself is actually in November, it is a yearly competition where people all over come and attempt to start a novel from scratch and finish it by the end of the month. 982,564,701 words were written in 2006 for the contest. That is amazing.
READING
1984 Comic: They’ve gone and done it: turned Orwell’s classic, 1984, into a graphic novel. Even if you have already read the book — as I have, several times — it’s very cool to see this classic story turned into a graphic novel.
Free Radical: Shamus Young, the man who runs Twenty Sided (link on the sidebar), turned the classic 1994 game System Shock into a novel. You don’t have to know the game to enjoy the book, as I’ve never played the game and I was able to enjoy the book completely. This is a fantastic read.
